About the role#
As an Applied AI Intern, you will help design, test, and refine intelligent systems for defense capabilities. You will work on software that moves from prototype to mission deployment, building tools and pipelines that integrate machine learning into operational workflows.
What you'll do#
- Build tools, applications, and pipelines that integrate machine learning into operational workflows.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to explore emerging AI technologies.
- Evaluate integration approaches for new systems.
- Develop software components that improve mission-relevant decision-making.
- Work in Agile environments to iterate on and test new features.
- Incorporate user feedback into ongoing development.
What you'll need#
- Experience with programming languages or frameworks such as Python, Java, C++, Go, or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies, version control, and collaborative workflows.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- You must be scheduled to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field by Spring or Summer 2028.
- Experience with AI/ML model development, cloud platforms, containerization, or DevSecOps tooling is helpful.
- Knowledge of databases like SQL or NoSQL and data engineering pipelines is a plus.
