About the role#
As a Sustainability Intern, you will join our Sustainability, Environmental Compliance, and Analytics team for a 10-week summer program. This role provides hands-on experience in environmental data analytics, renewable energy management, and compliance. You will work alongside a mentor to gain insight into our operations while participating in leadership workshops and community service projects.
What you'll do#
- Analyze data trends and anomalies in energy and waste performance to support internal reporting.
- Develop and maintain forecasting models for energy and waste data.
- Coordinate with Energy Engineering and internal teams to plan and implement projects.
- Compile and track renewable energy credits.
- Monitor and manage active solar arrays, including energy production trending and maintenance coordination.
- Support improvements to renewable energy data tracking and reporting processes.
- Coordinate data and documentation for sustainability disclosures.
- Assist in preparing data sets for federal, state, and local environmental compliance programs.
- Identify and address gaps in data controls and compliance processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Data Analytics, Energy Management, Climate Studies, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
- A demonstrated interest in sustainability, quantitative analysis, and process improvement.
- Familiarity with utility billing, energy consumption, or greenhouse gas emissions is helpful but not required.
