About the role#
This Industrial Design Co-op position offers the chance to work with our design team to develop new products and solutions. You will participate in the full design cycle, from initial research to final documentation and product photography.
What you'll do#
- Research user needs, product requirements, and industry trends.
- Perform field research including onsite observations, interviews, and task analysis.
- Create sketches, renderings, and models to communicate design ideas.
- Build layouts and test bucks to address user ergonomics.
- Determine materials, construction methods, colors, and surface finishes.
- Build 3D CAD models of appearance parts.
- Validate surface geometry using rapid prototype samples.
- Work with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to meet production requirements.
- Assist with product graphics and photography.
- Help the design staff prepare for presentations and meetings.
- Support project documentation and submit work for design competitions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor degree program for Industrial Design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Analytical problem solving and judgment skills.
- Reliable personal transportation.

- Location: Kinston, North Carolina.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Status: Full-time, paid position.
