About the role#
The Broadcast Studio Student Assistant supports the daily operations of the Chatham University Broadcast Studio. You will help students, faculty, and staff manage film, television, and production equipment. This role provides hands-on experience in a professional studio setting for students interested in media and technology.
What you'll do#
- Manage the check-in and check-out process for broadcast equipment using rental software.
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, and staff using the studio and gear.
- Track, document, and coordinate repairs for damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
- Maintain studio cleanliness and organization to ensure the space is ready for classes and projects.
- Enforce studio policies and procedures.
- Conduct inventory and perform light administrative tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar platforms.
- Strong organizational habits and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly with peers, faculty, and staff.
- Reliability and the ability to work independently when necessary.
- An interest in film, television, or technology is helpful but not required.
- Enrollment in majors such as Media Studies, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or Civil Engineering.
