About the role#
CHS Inc. is seeking a Grain Operations Intern for our location in Selby, South Dakota. This is a paid, full-time internship opportunity that runs through the winter and summer of 2027. You will work directly with our agriculture retail cooperative customers to provide service and information. This role offers the chance to build practical skills and work alongside experienced professionals in the agriculture industry.
What you'll do#
- Learn general agronomy skills, including scouting, crop protection, nutrient products, seed handling, and custom application procedures.
- Carry out agronomy and seed operations.
- Monitor inventory quality and maintain accurate records.
- Perform regular cleaning and facility maintenance.
- Assist with repairs and preventative maintenance for equipment like conveyors, sprayers, trucks, and floaters.
- Provide customer service and support to our clients.
- Ensure all work environments comply with state, local, and company safety and environmental policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Ag Business, Crop Science, or related agriculture degree program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Previous agriculture experience or internship experience is helpful but not required.
