About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to build practical skills and gain insight into how CHS operations support agriculture. You will work in Elkton, South Dakota, during the summer of 2027. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position where you will work alongside experienced professionals to support our grain operations.
What you'll do#
- Control and monitor all loadout functions.
- Operate automatic scale and dump systems.
- Blend products as prescribed and generate blends.
- Load and unload product from trucks.
- Operate heavy equipment as needed.
- Monitor and maintain the quality of inventory and blended products.
- Work with patrons in a professional and courteous manner.
- Conduct regular house cleaning duties and maintain accurate records.
- Perform job functions to ensure the facility operates smoothly.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Ag Business, Crop Science, or agriculture-related degree program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Agriculture experience or background knowledge is helpful.
- Previous internship experience is helpful but not required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented approach to tasks.
