About the role#
The Assistant Superintendent Intern supports the project staff with planning and oversight. You will help manage daily workloads, schedule manpower, and secure necessary tools and materials. This role involves filing permits, tracking budget expenditures, and monitoring field work to ensure installations match project drawings. You will report directly to Project Managers and Superintendents while assisting subcontractors and laborers to keep construction on schedule and within budget.
What you'll do#
- Provide on-site supervision of daily tasks and safety protocols.
- Maintain positive relationships with owners, trades, and management.
- Support a zero-injury safety culture on every job site.
- Offer guidance and leadership to construction teams.
- Report on project progress, safety, and field observations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program at an accredited university.
- General knowledge of construction principles and practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an adaptable work style.
- Effective communication skills and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Physical ability to walk job sites, climb ladders, and navigate scaffolding.
- Capacity to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Previous experience with subcontracts or projects of at least $5 million is helpful.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
- Work is strictly on-site.
- Travel or relocation is required as projects are located nationwide.
- This is a safety-sensitive role subject to a background check and mandatory drug testing.
- Pay ranges from $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on your graduation date.
