About the role#
As a Project Engineer Intern, you will work on large design-build projects across the country. You will join a team responsible for the entire project life cycle from the initial conceptual stages through final closeout. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Build relationships with clients and subcontractors.
- Work with Architects, Engineers, and Planners to create and manage design schedules.
- Assist senior project management team members with daily construction project tasks.
- Help establish project forecasts and budgets while managing costs.
- Accept responsibility for project execution and provide leadership to the team.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an undergraduate program at an accredited university studying Civil Engineering or a related major.
- General knowledge of construction principles and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and an adaptable work style.
- A strong sense of urgency and a self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical capability to walk job sites, climb ladders, and navigate multi-floor scaffolding.
- A solid understanding of safety-first practices.
- Previous experience with subcontracts, subcontractors, or self-perform work is a plus, as is prior experience on projects valued at $5 million or more.
Location & details#
- This role is on-site and requires travel to job locations nationwide.
- This is a safety-sensitive position subject to a background check and mandatory drug testing.
- Pay ranges from $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on your expected graduation date.
