    About the role#

    As a Process Control Engineering Intern, you will work on-site at our Cleveland facility. You will support the automation systems that keep our steel rolling processes running. This role involves working alongside engineering and operational leaders to solve real-world problems in a manufacturing environment.

    What you'll do#

    • Develop software across various programming languages and hardware platforms.
    • Maintain and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and automation systems.
    • Modify automation systems to support new products and processes.
    • Model mill processes involving chemical, metallurgical, and mechanical factors.
    • Administer operating systems and relational databases on servers and workstations.
    • Work with measurement technologies like vision systems, thermal imaging, RFID, barcode readers, and X-ray or nuclear gauges.
    • Manage networking, data transmission, and specialty interfaces.
    • Coordinate with production departments and staff groups like Research and Development.
    • Respond to routine and emergency requests while managing project priorities.
    • Collaborate with vendors on product performance and recommend system improvements.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
    • Completion of your sophomore year by the summer of 2027.
    • Current legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
