About the role#
Cordell and Cordell PC is hiring a Summer Associate for Summer 2027. This paid, full-time internship places you in our Houston office. You will work alongside experienced attorneys and firm leaders to gain practical experience in family law. The program is designed to mirror the responsibilities of a first-year associate, providing you with direct mentorship and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Draft and analyze legal documents for active family law cases.
- Conduct legal research and help prepare trial materials.
- Attend court proceedings with experienced attorneys.
- Join client meetings to gain insight into case strategy.
- Work with a Litigation Partner to build a foundation in family law practice.
- Attend firm-sponsored networking and social events.
- Perform other tasks as needed to support the firm.
What you'll need#
- You are a current 2L student in good standing at an accredited law school.
- You have a demonstrated interest in a career in family law.
- Your law school GPA is 3.0 or higher.
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You can relocate or reside in Houston for the duration of the program.
- You are flexible regarding your work location upon graduation.

- This role is based on-site in Houston, Texas.
- The internship is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027.
