About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will join the Quality and Operations teams at our Mesquite, Texas facility. The program runs for 12 weeks, starting in late May and ending in mid-August. You will report to the Quality Manager and work alongside plant personnel to improve manufacturing efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Support projects to reduce manufacturing waste, material losses, and rework.
- Collect and analyze data regarding batch failures and overall process performance.
- Identify trends by product, process step, or shift.
- Use tools like Pareto analysis, 5 Why, and fishbone diagrams to conduct root-cause investigations.
- Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to find process improvement opportunities.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions, then track their effectiveness.
- Document findings, processes, and action plans.
- Observe operations on the manufacturing floor and share your findings with the team.
- Assist with assigned Quality and Food Safety initiatives.
- Prepare summaries and presentations to share your project results.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor degree in Engineering, Quality, Food Science, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Attention to detail and the ability to organize data effectively.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with people across different organizational levels.
- Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing setting.

- Pay: $22 to $25 per hour.
