    About the role#

    As a Development Engineer Co-Op, you will support technology development in the telecommunications field. You will work with engineering principles to design, build, and evaluate prototype products, focusing on fiber optic connectors and enclosures. You will engage with cross-functional teams to solve problems and lead projects of limited scope.

    What you'll do#

    • Create 2D and 3D CAD designs for new components and assemblies.
    • Build and evaluate prototypes.
    • Plan and lead experiments to support assigned projects.
    • Analyze experiment results using engineering principles and statistical tools.
    • Manage your own priorities and timelines to meet project objectives.
    • Prepare oral and written reports to summarize test results and conclusions for technical audiences.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a BS or MS program for Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
    • Completion of first and second year engineering coursework.
    • Proficiency in CAD design software.
    • Ability to work with your hands to build prototypes and test systems.
    • Computer literacy in MS Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    • This position is located in Austin, Texas.
    • The role is on-site and full-time.
    • This is a paid co-op position.
