About the role#
As a Construction Management Intern, you will gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of our business. You will work alongside project managers, estimators, and plant operators to understand the full scope of our operations. This role requires flexibility, as you will need to travel, work away from home, and work nights or weekends when necessary.
What you'll do#
- Manage public and private construction jobs, including bidding, contract setup, and sub-contracting.
- Collaborate with estimators, project managers, and crew foremen to prepare for and execute projects.
- Gain experience with asphalt plant operations, including running scales, working with yard crews, and assisting with plant maintenance.
- Work on construction and prep crews to learn about equipment usage and job site setup.
- Assist the operations manager with monthly projections, job costs, and financial statement reviews.
- Spend time in aggregate locations to learn about logistics, materials, and our customer base.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Construction Management or Operations Management, or two to four years of related training.
- Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, write routine reports, and communicate effectively with team members and customers.
- Mathematical skills to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Ability to solve practical problems in varied work environments.
- Commitment to safety procedures and company policies.
- Ability to lift or move more than 25 pounds and work in outdoor conditions, including exposure to loud noise, heat, and cold.

- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship.
- The position follows a rolling term.
