About the role#
As a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your existing pharmacist education. This role focuses on developing your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective environment while delivering care to patients. Interns are expected to complete their internship within 18 months and meet all pharmacist licensure requirements within 120 days of finishing their hours.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers, answer the telephone, and assist with pharmacy and front store inquiries.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, counting, labeling, and resolving third party rejections.
- Perform register transactions and maintain inventory levels according to company procedures.
- Support the pharmacy manager in developing support staff and identifying business opportunities.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and federal or state laws.
- Provide patient counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Participate in store operational meetings and support pharmacy compliance.
- Deliver health care services as permitted by state regulation, such as immunization preparation.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL examinations.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently.
- Ability to complete all required training and obtain necessary licensure within established guidelines.
