About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience and professional development within the homebuilding process. You will be assigned to a primary department or functional area to gain practical knowledge through research, reporting, project work, and jobsite observation. The program aims to expose you to various business functions and potential career paths at D.R. Horton.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations in your assigned field location, office, or jobsite.
- Assist with administrative tasks, coordination efforts, and department-specific projects.
- Learn and apply industry terminology, company policies, safety requirements, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments.
- Participate in training programs, meetings, and departmental rotations.
- Conduct all business in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner.
- Work overtime and travel, including occasional overnight trips, as needed.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited four-year college or university and entering your junior or senior year, or recently graduated.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, Marketing, Communications, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and an ability to learn new software.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- A willingness to take initiative, ask questions, and adapt to different work environments.
