About the role#
D.R. Horton is seeking a Construction Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This program provides hands-on experience and professional development within the homebuilding industry. You will be assigned to a specific department or functional area to gain exposure to daily operations, business systems, and company processes. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Lakeville, Minnesota.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations in the field, office, or jobsite.
- Assist with projects, research, reporting, and administrative tasks.
- Learn industry terminology, company policies, and safety requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-functional departments.
- Participate in meetings, training programs, and departmental rotations.
- Explore potential career paths within the company.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards in all tasks.
- Work overtime and travel as needed, including occasional overnight trips.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year college or university, entering your junior or senior year, or recent graduation.
- Coursework or a degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Communications, Operations Management, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and ask questions.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability to different work environments, including office and jobsite settings.
- Candidates pursuing an advanced degree may also be considered.
