    About the role#

    As a Landman Intern, you will own an individual project for the duration of the summer. You will work directly with mentors to learn the core business functions of our land department. The internship concludes with a presentation of your project to our executive team. You will also have the opportunity to work with other disciplines to see how an oil and gas exploration company operates.

    What you'll do#

    • Complete an assigned land project throughout the summer.
    • Research and analyze leases, operating agreements, and various contracts to identify obligations.
    • Confirm ownership in operated and non-operated wells to help determine well proposal options.
    • Assist with surface use agreements and negotiations with landowners.
    • Perform title curative work and review title opinions.
    • Visit active drilling rigs and completions spreads to learn about field operations.
    • Take part in intern events and community support efforts in the Midland-Odessa area.

    What you'll need#

    • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Energy Management or Energy Commerce.
    • Returning to school for the Fall 2027 semester.
    • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
    • A cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher is preferred.
    • Membership in the American Association of Professional Landmen is a plus.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Midland, Texas.
    • The term runs for approximately 12 weeks from May through August 2027.
    • You must be willing to work in Midland for the entire duration of the program.
