    About the role#

    DigiPen Institute of Technology is hiring a Student Teaching Assistant for the DES-340 Level Design II course taught by Bill Morrison for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports the instructor in the classroom and provides mentorship to students. You will assist with technical tasks, grading, and lab support. This position requires 10 hours of work per week from August 31 to December 11, 2026. Applicants must be currently matriculated students at DigiPen with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.

    What you'll do#

    • Grade weekly assignments and projects while providing constructive feedback to students.
    • Assist students during labs and scheduled office hours.
    • Support the instructor with classroom setup, equipment operation, and student presentations.
    • Track and report your hours worked consistently.
    • Meet with students online if the situation requires it.
    • Attend weekly meetings with the instructor for feedback and planning.

    What you'll need#

    • You must have previously passed DES-340 and either DES-214 or DES-240 with a grade of B or better.
    • Availability to work during class and lab times without any schedule conflicts.
    • Proficiency with course material and strong technical skills in editors, blueprints, and scripting.
    • Experience with Unreal, UEFN, or the Portal 2 editor is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of level design techniques, pacing, and guidance.
    • Ability to interact with students as a mentor and maintain a positive attitude.

    Location & details#

    • This is an on-site position located in Redmond, Washington.
    • You must reside within the State of Washington to be eligible.
    • Compensation ranges from $17.13 to $18.25 per hour, based on your previous terms worked at DigiPen.
    • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform tasks involving sitting, walking, and standing.
