About the role#
DigiPen Institute of Technology is hiring a Student Teaching Assistant for the History of Western Music courses (MUS-161/MUS-171) for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports the instructor in classroom operations and provides mentorship to students enrolled in the course. You will work 20 hours per week while maintaining your own academic standing.
What you'll do#
- Set up the classroom and operate equipment like slide decks.
- Grade student work, including lab reports, using provided guidelines.
- Upload grades to Moodle and provide constructive feedback.
- Assist students during labs and scheduled office hours.
- Meet with students online if required.
- Deliver graded assignments on time and maintain consistent grading standards.
- Meet weekly with the instructor for feedback and duty updates.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- Successful completion of MUS-161 or MUS-399 History of Western Music with a grade of B or better.
- Proven proficiency with the course material.
- Ability to communicate clearly and provide professional critiques.
- Comfort interacting with peers in a mentorship capacity.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong interest in student success.
- Ability to work independently.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington. You must reside in the state of Washington to perform this work.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 31, 2026 - April 24, 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $17.13 - $18.25 per hour, based on your number of terms worked at DigiPen.
- Note: Student employees cannot work during their own scheduled class times.
