About the role#
The Learning Skills Center at Duquesne University is looking for a part-time Office Assistant. You will provide front desk and administrative support, acting as a primary point of contact for students, faculty, and staff. This role helps maintain the daily operations of the Student Success Department.
What you'll do#
- Welcome and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Answer and direct phone calls and respond to general inquiries.
- Handle office tasks like filing, copying, scanning, and shredding documents.
- Sort and distribute departmental mail and deliveries.
- Help plan, prepare, and manage registration for workshops and events.
- Represent the department at campus outreach and tabling events.
What you'll need#
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Ability to learn new office technologies and procedures quickly.
- Reliability and a professional work ethic.

- Compensation: This is a paid, part-time position.
