About the role#
The Occupational Therapy Department at Duquesne University is looking for a student assistant to support faculty and staff. You will act as an ambassador for the program, helping with recruitment and daily operations. This role is designed for students who want to build professional skills while contributing to the academic community.
What you'll do#
- Conduct tours for prospective students and their families.
- Assist with recruitment events, open houses, and departmental outreach initiatives.
- Prepare laboratory equipment, supplies, and materials for classroom and lab activities.
- Provide general administrative and departmental support.
- Perform light cleaning and organization of OT laboratories, classrooms, and storage areas.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of labs and departmental events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an Occupational Therapy major (sophomore, junior, or senior) or in the OTD program.
- Eligibility for Federal Work-Study.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Comfort interacting with prospective students, families, and faculty.
Location & details#
- Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Approximately 15 hours per week, scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events.
- Type: Paid, part-time position.
