About the role#
Elk Valley Resources is hiring a Finance and Accounting Co-op for the Winter 2027 term. This full-time, on-site position is based in Sparwood, British Columbia. You will work within the Coal Division and receive a monthly salary between $4,117 and $5,192 CAD, depending on your academic progress and prior experience.
What you'll do#
- Follow all company health and safety programs and policies.
- Prepare financial transactions that meet corporate policies and procedures.
- Help the team complete month-end close reporting on time.
- Perform account reconciliations.
- Assist with quarterly and annual financial, audit, and tax reporting requirements.
- Prepare reports for operational sites and the Head Office.
- Help standardize and streamline systems used to gather and analyze financial data.
- Evaluate ideas and technologies to improve business processes.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward an Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License without restrictions is required.
- You have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Dynamics AX is an asset.
- You are a self-starter who can prioritize work and maintain attention to detail.
- You possess strong communication skills to share information with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and external clients.
