About the role#
The RF/mm-Wave Reference Design Team at GlobalFoundries is seeking a student to join the team for the Fall 2026 term. This role focuses on solving complex circuit problems and supporting the design pipeline for semiconductor test chips.
What you'll do#
- Design and tape-out mm-Wave reference circuits for internal test chips and MPWs.
- Use industry-standard tools for schematic design, physical layout, parasitic extractions, and circuit simulations.
- Perform electromagnetic simulations and circuit optimizations to ensure performance requirements are met.
- Collaborate with design leads on multiple concurrent projects.
- Follow all safety protocols and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a MS or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
- Understanding of transistor level circuit design.
- Experience with RF/mm-Wave circuit design.
- Proficiency with Cadence-based EDA tools.
- Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
