About the role#
This internship provides John Deere Ag Tech students with hands-on experience in a dealership service department. You will work alongside experienced technicians and management to learn the trade, perform basic equipment maintenance, and complete required training programs. The program combines classroom learning with practical work on agricultural and turf equipment.
What you'll do#
- Complete project assignments focused on service activities.
- Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural, turf, and Ag Management Solutions equipment.
- Participate in Service EDUCATE training programs to build your technical skills.
- Track your time and materials used for all assigned tasks.
- Stay informed on current John Deere products and those from competitors.
- Follow all safety regulations while working in the shop.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- Current enrollment in an AAS Degree program for the John Deere Tech curriculum.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly.
- A valid driver's license.
- Ability to operate vehicles and diagnostic equipment.
- A forklift license is preferred but not required.
