    About the role#

    The Government of Nova Scotia is hiring students for the Future Opportunities Stream. This program creates a pool of candidates for various summer roles across departments including Natural Resources, Energy, Climate, Agriculture, Fisheries, and Aquaculture. These positions provide hands-on experience and mentorship within the public sector.

    What you'll do#

    Your specific duties depend on your placement but may include:

    • Working outdoors to support provincial parks, beaches, and campgrounds.
    • Assisting with data analysis, information management, reporting, and program delivery.
    • Supporting forestry education programs and engaging the public at events.
    • Gaining experience in clean energy projects.
    • Conducting data collection, mensuration, surveys, and audits in forestry settings.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a high school or related post-secondary program.
    • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
    • An interest in forestry, parks, or outdoor work.
