About the role#
Hexagon is looking for a Systems Engineering Intern to join our team in Calgary. You will work on the full life cycle of Global Navigation Satellite Systems receiver cards, from concept to manufacturing and field support. This role focuses on receiver design, specifically RF design and performance optimization. You will work with a cross-functional team on product designs and improvements.
What you'll do#
- Develop test and characterization plans.
- Perform test set-up, automation, manual testing, and debugging.
- Collect and analyze data to support product development.
- Create analysis tools using scripting and graphing.
- Write test reports and present your findings and recommendations.
- Conduct design and test reviews with the engineering team.
- Work with the Manufacturing team to optimize production yield.
- Analyze data from fielded products.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Electrical, Geomatics, Systems, Software, or Computing Engineering program.
- Completion of your 2nd year of studies prior to the start of the work term.
- Registration in an Engineering Internship or Co-op program.
- Availability for a minimum 12-month work term.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with C++, Matlab, Simulink, Python, or other scripting languages is an asset.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Basic understanding of RF/digital circuits and GNSS principles.
- Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
