About the role#
The Hudson Institute China Center offers an internship for individuals interested in the US-China relationship, national security, and US Grand Strategy. You will work directly with Miles Yu, the Director of the China Center and Senior Fellow. This role provides exposure to critical policy issues and opportunities to discuss them with subject matter experts. Interns based on-site may assist with and attend public events and internal sessions featuring scholars from across Washington, DC.
What you'll do#
- Gather and analyze data for reports and articles.
- Track current events to keep the team informed.
- Assist with research projects, presentations, and podcast transcripts.
- Draft and edit articles, op-eds, reports, and briefing memos.
- Provide weekly support for the China Insider podcast.
- Handle administrative tasks and event support.
What you'll need#
- Current students or recent graduates in political science, international relations, economics, security studies, or Chinese language studies.
- Interest in US foreign policy, Chinese studies, and regional security.
- Strong research, writing, editing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Mandarin language skills are a plus.

- Location: Washington, DC.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 24 to December 4).
- Modality: On-site preferred.
- Commitment: Minimum 10 hours per week.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid volunteer position.
