    About the role#

    Hudson Institute offers an internship focused on the U.S. national security industrial base, strategic technologies, and American grand strategy. Interns work directly with experts to discuss critical policy issues and support research projects. You will also have the opportunity to attend public events and intern-specific programming featuring scholars across Washington, DC.

    What you'll do#

    • Gather and analyze data for reports and articles.
    • Keep experts and the team updated on current events.
    • Assist with research projects, presentations, and briefing memos.
    • Support the drafting of articles and op-eds.
    • Handle administrative tasks and provide event support.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment or a recent degree in political science, international relations, economics, security studies, technology studies, or a related field.
    • Demonstrated interest in and experience with defense and China policy.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
    • Strong research, writing, editing, and communication skills.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Washington, DC (On-site).
    • Term: Fall 2026 (August 31 to December 11).
    • Commitment: Minimum 20 hours per week.
    • Compensation: This is an unpaid volunteer position.
