    About the role#

    This is a paid, full-time internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site at our headquarters in Washington, D.C. This program provides university students from member countries the chance to gain professional experience in development work and corporate management.

    What you'll do#

    • Design user-centered interfaces for systems and applications to ensure clarity and usability.
    • Produce design assets like wireframes, mockups, page layouts, and visual components.
    • Create multimedia materials including graphics, icons, infographics, and interactive elements for system communications and user guides.
    • Review and update existing designs to maintain consistency, accessibility, and brand standards.
    • Collaborate with product owners, developers, and communications teams to translate user needs into design solutions.
    • Design and assemble digital toolkits and onboarding documentation.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be an active undergraduate student in Graphic Design, UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
    • You must have completed your second year of school by the time of application.
    • Your graduation date must be after the internship period ends.
    • You need fluency in English.
    • You should have an understanding of UX/UI design principles, including usability and accessibility.
    • Proficiency in graphic design software like Adobe Creative Suite or Canva is required.
    • Experience with design tools such as Figma is necessary.
    • You must be a national of an IDB member country.
    • You must be a first-time participant in an IDB or IDB Invest internship program.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Washington, D.C., United States.
    • Duration: Two months, from January 16th to March 15th, 2027.
    • Commitment: 40 hours per week.
    • Documentation: You must submit a resume, academic transcripts, and a university letter certifying your student status. All documents must be in PDF format.
