About the role#
The Inter-American Development Bank is hiring an undergraduate student for a paid, full-time internship during the Winter 2027 term. This position is based at our headquarters in Washington, D.C. You will gain experience in corporate management and development work through on-the-job learning.
What you'll do#
- Create clear, visual step-by-step guides for administrative procedures like travel authorizations, expense statements, and timesheet reporting.
- Optimize internal trackers, including the Excel-based system used to monitor mission and contract information.
- Organize and standardize the division's shared files and folders to ensure they are consistent and easy to navigate.
- Support the Front Office team with daily tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and mailbox management.
- Translate technical procedural information into accessible content for internal communications.
What you'll need#
- You must be an active undergraduate student in Business Administration, Communications, International Relations, Economics, or a related field. You should have completed your second year of school.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data organization, is required.
- Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint or visual design tools is expected.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of a second Bank language like Spanish, French, or Portuguese is a plus.
- You must be a national of an IDB member country.
- You must be a first-time participant in an internship program held by the Bank or IDB Invest.

- Location: Washington, D.C., United States.
- Duration: Full-time (40 hours per week) from January 16, 2027, to March 15, 2027.
- This is a paid position under the Consultant modality.
