About the role#
The Inter-American Development Bank is seeking a graduate student for a paid internship in Digital Finance Operations. This position is part of the Winter 2027 program based at our headquarters. You will gain professional experience in development work and corporate management while contributing to our finance operations.
What you'll do#
- Identify and promote opportunities to use AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve finance operations.
- Develop analytical capabilities to support data-driven decision-making.
- Improve the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of operational and financial data.
- Support the design, testing, and scaling of digital solutions to increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with teams to train staff and enable the adoption of new technologies and analytics practices.
What you'll need#
- You must be an active graduate student in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, system engineering, or data analytics at an accredited university.
- You must have completed at least 50% of your coursework at the time of application.
- Your graduation date must be after the internship period.
- You must be a national of an IDB member country.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese is a plus.
- Technical proficiency in process automation, AI tools (such as Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Power Apps, and AI Builder), data analytics (Power BI, Power Query, DAX), and Python or SQL is preferred.
- You must be a first-time participant in an IDB or IDB Invest internship program.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, D.C.
- Duration: Two months, from January 16, 2027, to March 15, 2027.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
- Eligibility: You must not have family members working at the IDB or IDB Invest within the fourth degree of consanguinity or second degree of affinity.
