About the role#
Interfor is hiring an Operations Intern for our location in Swainsboro, Georgia. This is a full-time, paid summer 2027 opportunity. You will work on-site alongside experienced professionals to build practical skills in a modern manufacturing environment. We provide a monthly salary starting at $3,700 and offer a temporary living allowance for those relocating for the position.
What you'll do#
- Learn how a modern sawmill operates through hands-on experience.
- Explore production processes and see how teams work together to produce wood products safely.
- Contribute to projects focused on operational efficiency, process improvement, and production performance.
- Analyze data and observations to find ways to improve mill operations.
- Build leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills by working with operations professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a degree or diploma program related to Wood Products Processing, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or Supply Chain.
- A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Curiosity and a hands-on approach to learning how manufacturing works.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work with employees across different departments.
- Comfort with reviewing information, asking questions, and solving problems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
