About the role#
The Retail Cafe Barista supports food service and guest experience at our cafe locations. You will craft specialty drinks, assemble menu items, and fulfill orders. We provide full on-the-job training for this role. This position is open to students from various majors, including Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, Civil Engineering, Marketing, Nutrition, and Human Resources.
What you'll do#
- Greet and serve guests with a warm demeanor.
- Prepare specialty beverages, sandwiches, and light menu items.
- Operate point-of-sale systems and handle transactions.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout your shift.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing cafe areas, including counters and tables.
- Keep track of food and beverage temperatures.
- Support inventory and stocking processes.
What you'll need#
- No prior barista or food service experience is required.
- Ability to maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and allergens.
- Commitment to following food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Ability to multitask and communicate clearly with team members.
- Availability for a minimum of 3 shifts per week.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout your shift.

- Compensation: $16 per hour.
