About the role#
Ithaca College is hiring Teaching Assistants for various Television and Digital Media (TVR) courses. These positions provide hands-on experience in studio and production environments, allowing students to support faculty and peers while developing technical skills. Roles are available across multiple production levels, ranging from introductory audio and studio courses to advanced live event and documentary workshops.
What you'll do#
- Support instructional activities, including equipment handling and overseeing recording sessions.
- Assist with the setup, breakdown, and distribution of cameras, lighting, audio, and studio technology.
- Help students use production equipment and software during class sessions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide training during labs and workshops.
- Facilitate classroom exercises, support student productions, and assist with administrative tasks like scheduling guests or project demos.
- Work directly with instructors to ensure studio sessions run safely and effectively.
What you'll need#
- You must have previously completed the specific course you are applying to assist.
- Certain positions require a minimum grade of B or B+ in the relevant coursework.
- Specific roles, such as TV Series Production, require the completion of Cinema Production 2.
- Documentary Workshop applicants must have completed at least one intermediate or advanced film production class.
