About the role#
This role offers students a chance to gain work experience within the campus dining environment. You will assist in daily operations while developing professional skills. The position includes on-the-job training and free meals during your shift.
What you'll do#
- Provide helpful service to guests to ensure a positive dining experience.
- Help manage shifts and oversee other student workers.
- Train new team members on standard procedures.
- Set up and break down service lines, including managing food storage and disposal.
- Keep your workstation clean and sanitized according to safety standards.
- Monitor food temperatures and replenish service lines from coolers and ovens.
- Answer guest questions about menu items, ingredients, and allergens.
- Communicate clearly with your coworkers and management team.
What you'll need#
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to multitask.
- Knowledge of food sanitation and safety procedures.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Experience in managing or training others.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for the duration of your shift.
- Interest in fields such as Communications, Business Administration, Marketing, Human Resources, Nursing, Public Health, Sociology, or Psychology.
