About the role#
As an Actuarial Intern, you will work alongside management and senior actuaries to support the department in managing company risk. This role involves gathering data, measuring financial performance, and predicting future behavior. You will take on actuarial projects throughout the summer designed to provide practical experience and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Provide administrative support to the actuarial team.
- Conduct research for department initiatives and perform analysis in your assigned area.
- Participate in setting goals and meeting deadlines for actuarial projects.
- Communicate project status and concerns to management.
- Answer questions from other departments.
- Develop interpersonal and communication skills.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a second to third year undergraduate student or first year masters student in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Economics.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- The ability to manage time and competing priorities.
- Exposure to programming languages or advanced computer applications is preferred.
- Coursework toward an Associates or Bachelors degree is preferred.
