About the role#
As an intern on the Product Insights team, you will support Research and Development efforts under the direction of our Sensory and Applications teams. You will work within the Research and Development group and interact with Marketing, Consumer Insights, and Food Safety and Quality departments. This position is based at the Tech Center in Sheboygan Falls.
What you'll do#
- Assist in testing new product platforms, line extensions, and performance improvements.
- Evaluate sensory characteristics across the Johnsonville product portfolio.
- Participate in cross-functional project team activities.
- Collaborate with scientists working on fresh, ready-to-eat, and new technology products.
- Plan and carry out sensory product testing activities and product cuttings.
- Develop on-trend culinary solutions for customers.
- Interpret test results and present findings to the project team.
- Organize a product showcase for the Summer 2027 intern group.
- Maintain accurate work records and share results with team members.
- Present your summer learnings to the team at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in Culinary, Meat Science, or Food Science. Junior or senior status is preferred.
- A minimum GPA of 3.5 is strongly preferred.
- A general understanding of Sensory Science and a working knowledge of statistics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Prior work experience is preferred.

- Term: Summer 2027, starting May 24, 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site, full-time.
- This role may require travel to other facilities and the ability to work off-shift hours depending on customer needs.
