About the role#
As a Network Planning Engineer Intern, you will support a large enterprise network IP service. You will help translate customer objectives into final product designs while analyzing and modifying network components. This role involves working with Local Exchange Carriers to resolve connectivity issues and ensuring the network meets performance criteria.
What you'll do#
- Design, analyze, and model network architecture.
- Monitor network alarm conditions to proactively identify and minimize disruptions.
- Troubleshoot Ethernet, IP, Frame Relay, ATM, WAN, and LAN using standard test methods.
- Develop and evaluate methods for measuring network performance.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Information Technology.
- Understanding of WAN/LAN, TDM, VoIP, TCP/IP, Frame Relay, and ATM.
- Experience with routing protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, BGP, and EIGRP.
- Familiarity with DWDM, CTI, VPN technologies, and SONET infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Optical Carrier specifications from OC3 to OC192 and digital signaling from DS0 to DS3.
- Possession of Cisco certifications like CCNA or CCNP is preferred.
- Systems administration skills.

- Term: Summer 2026.
- Work schedule: Full-time on-site, 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off).
