About the role#
As an Image Science Engineer intern, you will contribute to the analysis of image and product quality for digital imagery systems. You will work on tasks related to the collection, processing, and display of data. This role involves solving complex engineering problems and documenting your technical findings.
What you'll do#
- Analyze image and product quality for dissemination, archival, and exploitation.
- Test the utility of image processing routines and advanced algorithms for remote sensing systems.
- Investigate and resolve engineering problems related to quality control.
- Write technical documents and create presentations to share your work.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Imaging Science, Physics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- Experience with image processing techniques and software tools.
- Proficiency in writing engineering-level software routines using Python, C, C++, or Matlab.
- Knowledge of ground processing architectures and image processing algorithms for passive remote sensing systems.
- Exposure to analysis and processing of Visible and IR electro-optical systems is helpful.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in Rochester, New York.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The work schedule follows a 9/80 format, meaning you work 80 hours over 9 days and have every other Friday off.
