About the role#
The Program Management Office (PMO) team leads high-priority initiatives that bring new diagnostic tests and capabilities to market. As an intern, you will contribute to projects focused on artificial intelligence, innovation, vendor management, and organizational effectiveness. This role offers exposure to enterprise-wide decision-making and the opportunity to help shape how Labcorp delivers innovation and executes strategy.
What you'll do#
- Support strategic initiatives to enhance the effectiveness, maturity, and innovation of the PMO.
- Research and develop practical AI use cases to improve project delivery, reporting, and PM productivity.
- Analyze PMO processes and recommend improvements to governance, portfolio reporting, and project execution standards.
- Develop a framework for evaluating external vendors, partnerships, and acquisition opportunities.
- Conduct interviews, surveys, and data analysis for PMO health assessments.
- Design and organize PMO knowledge management resources, including templates, SOPs, and collaboration spaces.
- Create executive-ready presentations, dashboards, process maps, and scorecards for senior leadership.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and support strategic decision-making.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Project Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, or Operations Management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and a continuous learning mindset.
- Interest in healthcare, diagnostics, life sciences, or technology-driven business transformation.
- Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Power BI, or Microsoft Copilot.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid remote position for Summer 2027.
- The internship runs from June 1, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
