About the role#
The Mechanical Engineering Summer 2027 Internship at the Fori Automation facility in Shelby Township, Michigan, offers hands-on experience in industrial machinery and automation. You will work alongside experienced engineers to design, build, and debug custom robotic work cells. This program connects your academic foundation with real-world applications in manufacturing.
What you'll do#
- Develop custom manufacturing equipment tailored to specific customer requirements.
- Design and implement robotic systems for customer applications with a focus on automation.
- Engineer robotic solutions to optimize internal manufacturing processes.
- Conduct engineering analysis on mechanical designs to validate performance, identify improvements, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing or having achieved a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with OSHA, SDS, and ANSI (RIA) safety standards.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship.
