About the role#
The Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER) Department is hiring student workers to serve as Welcome Desk Attendants. This role is the first point of contact for students, staff, and community members. You will help ensure the facility runs smoothly while providing professional customer service.
What you'll do#
- Greet and log participants in and out of the facility.
- Answer general questions from patrons.
- Sign patrons up for memberships.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down rentals, athletic events, and classes.
- Maintain the cleanliness of HPER facilities, including performing laundry duties and organizing equipment.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Current enrollment at Lorain County Community College carrying 6.0 or more credit hours.
- A minimum GPA of 2.0.
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
- Basic CPR certification (must be obtained upon employment if not already held).
- Reliability, punctuality, and computer literacy.
- Proper phone etiquette and a professional presentation.

- Preferred majors include Health Administration, Public Health, Real Estate, Business Administration, and Kinesiology.
