About the role#
As a Backend Software Engineer Intern, you will work on user-facing products and see your code go live. You will have autonomy to own your project while collaborating with engineers in a hybrid office environment.
What you'll do#
- Own your project and provide regular updates to the team.
- Improve the codebase through progressive refactoring.
- Ensure system reliability by writing unit, integration, and load tests.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge.
- Manage continuous integration and deployment processes.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science at a Canadian university.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028.
- Less than 2 years of full-time work experience for master's students.
- Available for a Summer 2027 internship in Montreal.
- Strong grasp of CS fundamentals.
- Experience with databases, real-time technology problems, or mobile development.
- Contributions to open source projects are a plus.
- Fluent in English and working proficiency in French.
- Ability to work in a startup environment.
- Interest in community, sustainability, or transportation.
Location & details#
- Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
- Schedule: Hybrid, with at least 3 days per week in the office (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $34-$36/hour CAD.
