About the role#
As a software engineering intern focused on test automation, you will work with experienced engineers to build tools that improve product quality. You will have the freedom to innovate and contribute to projects that impact Lyft users. This position is based in Montreal and takes place during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Own your assigned project while collaborating with team members to share ideas and ask questions.
- Improve existing codebases through progressive refactoring.
- Ensure system reliability by implementing unit, integration, and load tests.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge.
- Work with continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science at a Canadian university.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and summer 2028.
- Less than 2 years of full-time work experience for master's degree candidates.
- Availability for the full summer 2027 term in Montreal.
- Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals and clear communication skills.
- Interest in community, sustainability, or transportation.
- Experience or interest in test automation, integration testing, databases, mobile development, or AI tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a startup environment.
- Contributions to open source projects are a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (in-office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: Paid internship with a base rate of $34 to $36 CAD per hour.
