About the role#
Lyft is looking for a qualitative User Experience Research Intern to join the team in Toronto. You will work with Design, Product Management, Analytics, and Engineering to understand user behaviors and attitudes. This role allows you to contribute to user-facing products while working alongside senior researchers who provide mentorship.
What you'll do#
- Design and run research studies across key product areas, both independently and with senior team members.
- Use methods like ethnographic and field research, diary studies, surveys, usability testing, and guerrilla research.
- Review and analyze qualitative or quantitative data.
- Communicate insights and actionable recommendations to drive product innovation and design improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Master's or PhD program in Human-Computer Interaction, Anthropology, Design, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or a related field.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028.
- Availability for a full-time internship during Summer 2027.
- Previous experience as a researcher or research coordinator for qualitative studies or school projects.
- Strong listening, analytical, and communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship based in Toronto, Ontario.
- The role operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring at least 3 days per week in the office, specifically Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
