    About the role#

    Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories is looking for an intern to work on embedded controllers for a Linux-based experimental process control platform. This role involves hands-on development, system integration, and experimental validation. You will work on-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as part of a full-time internship lasting between 3 and 6 months.

    What you'll do#

    • Design and implement embedded controllers using C and C++.
    • Develop firmware for STM32 and Arduino microcontrollers.
    • Integrate motor drivers, sensors, and actuators into the system.
    • Connect embedded components to APIs and communication interfaces.
    • Perform system integration and validate experiments.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as an MS or PhD student.
    • Strong programming skills in C and C++.
    • Hands-on experience with microcontroller firmware, specifically STM32 or Arduino devices.
    • Familiarity with embedded peripherals and protocols including PWM, ADC, timers, interrupts, UART, SPI, I2C, and CAN.
    • A commitment to software engineering practices like testing, documentation, and code readability.
