About the role#
The Quality Engineering Intern supports lithium-ion cell and battery pack production at Navitas Systems. You will work on technical and engineering tasks including data analysis, inspections, and document control. Each intern is assigned a specific project and receives mentorship from a member of the Quality Team.
What you'll do#
- Support manufacturing design of experiments, testing, and data collection.
- Assist with 8D problem solving efforts.
- Perform incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspections while documenting results.
- Support calibration activities and manage non-conforming material.
- Work with manufacturing engineering to implement approved process changes.
- Assist in process optimization studies and maintain work instructions or process maps.
- Manage and analyze production data including test results, Pareto charts, and yield data.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area through daily 5S practices.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward an engineering degree, preferably at the Bachelors or Masters level.
- Ability to work at least 30 hours per week.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, for data management and analysis.
- Willingness to learn how to use inspection equipment like 3D scanners, SEM, and optical comparators.
- Good verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 40-pound loads several times per day.

- This position is based on-site in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
- Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or a lawful permanent resident.
- This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
