About the role#
The Servicing Analytics team at Navy Federal Credit Union provides data-driven insights and reporting solutions to support Mortgage Servicing leadership. As a Summer Associate, you will join a 12-week internship program running from May 2027 through August 2027. You will work on projects that modernize financial and operational data assets and contribute to the Analytics Innovation Platform (AIP), an environment designed for scalable reporting and automated data solutions.
What you'll do#
- Partner with a Servicing business unit to identify operational challenges and analytical needs.
- Gather business requirements through stakeholder meetings and discovery sessions.
- Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards, scorecards, and analytics products for leadership and frontline teams.
- Analyze servicing, operational, and financial data to find trends and process improvements.
- Support the design of self-service reporting to improve data accessibility.
- Document business requirements, data definitions, and reporting logic.
- Participate in Agile team ceremonies and cross-functional collaboration.
- Present project updates and final recommendations to business stakeholders.
- Deliver a capstone project that demonstrates business value through reporting modernization or data-driven improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- Anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Basic understanding of databases and data analysis concepts, with a key emphasis on SQL knowledge.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Interest in financial services, mortgage servicing, and emerging analytics technologies.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure, cloud-based analytics, or data warehousing is a plus.
- Experience with Python, R, or similar analytical tools is beneficial.
