    About the role#

    The Security Regulatory Testing team within the Security Governance and Risk division examines transactions and documentation to ensure compliance with regulations. This 12-week summer internship runs from May 2027 to August 2027. You will work on projects that support our security and risk management efforts.

    What you'll do#

    • Evaluate regulatory testing activities to find repetitive tasks and develop a roadmap for AI use cases.
    • Inventory reporting products and metrics to recommend a new framework for data quality and leadership visibility.
    • Produce a consolidated mapping model to evaluate relationships between security processes, risks, controls, and regulatory requirements.
    • Shadow staff and leaders from various security and risk functions to understand enterprise issues and incident management.
    • Collaborate with security teams to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Assist in the implementation of Enterprise Operational Risk Management policies.
    • Support audits and compliance assessments to ensure adherence to regulations.
    • Report on risk findings and trends to senior management and stakeholders.
    • Promote risk awareness and a culture of risk management across the organization.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Risk Management, Accounting, Information Security, or a related field.
    • Anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
    • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
    • Coursework or experience in audit, risk management, compliance, internal controls, or cybersecurity.
    • Familiarity with risk assessment frameworks like COSO, NIST, FFIEC, ISO 27001, or COBIT.
    • Understanding of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) concepts.
    • Experience with data analysis tools such as SQL or Power BI.
    • Interest in pursuing a career in internal audit, compliance, risk management, or cybersecurity.

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, on-site internship.
    • Available locations include Vienna, VA; Pensacola, FL; and Winchester, VA.
    • Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
