About the role#
NewsNation is offering a paid internship for the Fall 2026 term. This is an on-site opportunity based in Chicago. Interns work directly with programs, bureaus, or production teams. You will attend training sessions and workshops to learn about the editorial, business, and technical operations of a national news network.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research for news segments.
- Pitch story ideas to the team.
- Identify and contact prospective guests.
- Source video content from social media platforms.
- Perform desktop video editing.
- Create graphics and write scripts.
- Shadow staff in various editorial roles.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in a field such as Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or Public Health.
- A self-motivated approach to your work.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Openness to receiving feedback and constructive criticism.

- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Term: September 8, 2026, through December 4, 2026.
- Modality: This is an on-site position.
- Compensation: $16.60 per hour.
